Your Questions,
Answered

  • Yes. I work with both couples and individuals. Couples typically begin with the Strategic Relationship Assessment. Individuals begin with a standard intake and move directly into ongoing counseling.

  • It’s a structured, four-session process designed to help couples move out of confusion and into clarity. It includes one joint intake session, two individual sessions (one with each partner), and a final feedback session where I present a comprehensive relational formulation and strategic roadmap forward.

Rather than guessing in ongoing therapy, we start by understanding the system.

  • Yes. Couples must complete the Strategic Relationship Assessment before moving into ongoing counseling or relationship intensives. This ensures our work is grounded in a shared understanding of your patterns and dynamics, rather than reacting moment to moment.

  • At the end of the assessment, we decide together what makes the most sense moving forward. For some couples, that’s weekly counseling. For others, it’s a relationship intensive. Occasionally, it’s a different direction entirely.

The assessment gives you clarity — not an obligation.

  • That depends on your goals, the complexity of your patterns, and what you decide after the assessment.

Some couples gain significant clarity through the Strategic Relationship Assessment alone. Others continue with weekly counseling or intensives. There’s no predetermined timeline — we move at a pace that supports real change rather than rushing outcomes.

  • No. Intensives build directly on the assessment. Because we’ve already mapped your relational patterns and constraints, intensives can be focused, efficient, and impactful.

  • Insurance is accepted for individual counseling sessions only.

I do not accept insurance for couples work, Strategic Relationship Assessments, or Relationship Intensives.

There are several reasons for this:

Couples sessions typically range from 90 minutes to three hours, which falls outside standard insurance reimbursement structures. In addition, insurance companies require a designated “identified patient” with a clinical diagnosis, which doesn’t reflect how I work with relationships as systems rather than one person being labeled as the problem.

Finally, insurance reimbursement rates for relational work are often significantly lower than individual therapy, which makes it difficult to offer the depth and time required for meaningful couples work.

For these reasons, couples services are private-pay.

If you’re seeking individual counseling, insurance may be used when applicable. I’m happy to provide documentation for out-of-network reimbursement if your plan allows.

  • Individual counseling sessions are approximately 50–55 minutes.
Couples counseling sessions are 90 minutes.
Relationship Intensives are three-hour focused sessions.

Strategic Relationship Assessment sessions follow the same general structure, with one joint session, two individual sessions, and a final feedback session. Session length depends on the phase of the assessment.

I typically see clients Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM–12:00 PM and 2:00–5:00 PM. Most sessions are scheduled during these hours, with occasional exceptions made based on availability and clinical need.

  • My work is primarily in-person.

Virtual sessions may be used on an as-needed basis for established in-person clients when circumstances require it. In general, I do not offer telehealth as a standard option for new clients.

  • Couples begin by applying for the Strategic Relationship Assessment. This process requires an application before scheduling.

Individuals seeking counseling can schedule an intake session directly through the client portal:

Once you’re an established client, all ongoing scheduling is handled through the client portal.

  • You’ll find current rates and payment information on the Investment page, which outlines fees for individual counseling, couples work, the Strategic Relationship Assessment, and Relationship Intensives.

  • The assessment process can be especially helpful in these situations. It provides clarity about relational patterns and options, whether your goal is repair, discernment, or closure.

  • I am a licensed counselor. My work integrates clinical therapy with strategic relational assessment.

Individual counseling and couples counseling are clinical services. Strategic Relationship Assessments and Relationship Intensives are structured therapeutic processes designed to accelerate clarity and change.

At times, the work may feel practical or directive — similar to coaching — but it is grounded in clinical training and therapeutic practice.

  • Individuals begin with a standard intake and move directly into ongoing counseling. The Strategic Relationship Assessment is only required for couples.

Ready to begin?

If you’re ready to stop repeating the same cycles and start building something different, the first step is to apply for a Strategic Relationship Assessment if you’re looking as a couple, or to schedule your intake session if you’re looking for individual work.
